Elder Abuse
Elder abuse, which occurs when someone intentionally harms an elderly person or puts them at serious risk for harm, is far more common than people think. And even more shocking is that the abuse is often at the hands of a family member or another trusted individual. According to the National Council on Aging, almost 10% of Americans aged 60 or older have been a victim of elder abuse.
